WVU Chapter of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars at West Virginia University!

Greetings Members! Congrats on becoming a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars West Virginia University Chapter! It is with my great pleasure to welcome you to a chapter that is committed to academic excellence, leadership, unity, and giving back to the community. This year we are excited to have you on board to be apart of our many endeavors in which our chapter takes part in! Be sure to check with the national office to make sure your e-mail is registered, so you are able to receive all of the officer updates for our chapter! We hope to see you at our meetings this fall/spring!

Loyalty Points
Loyalty points are something implemented by the organization to make sure that members are attempting to participate in NSCS activities and events. You need at least 10 points each semester to be considered an active member. Active membership allows you to reference NSCS on your résumé or any other professional document. In the case that a possible employer or university contacts NSCS, we will be able to determine if you were an active member or not. Points can be obtained by attending meetings, participating in community service projects, donations to projects, and attending social events. You must attend at least one social event per semester. If you don’t obtain all ten points, don’t worry! You are always a member of NSCS, and there is always next semester to become active. If you ever have any questions about your point standing, feel free to email Erik(Secretary) at (etgompers@mix.wvu.edu).
